  • GMV (Global Merchandise Value)

    Definition:
    GMV (Gross Merchandise Value) is the total sales dollar value of merchandise sold through a marketplace over a specific period, excluding any fees or expenses.

    Example: eBay's Gross Merchandise Volume (GMV) for 2023 was $73.2 billion, a slight decrease from $73.9 billion in 2022.
    In the first quarter of 2024, eBay reported a GMV of $18.62 billion, showing a small year-over-year increase from $18.41 billion in the same quarter of 2023​
